Welcome.  This blog’s purpose is to document my study abroad experience in Japan from August ’08 to May ’09.  I’ll probably continue the blog after that, but for now, that’ll be the main focus.  This is more or less my own journal, so it’s not geared to attract a ton of readers, but it is open for anyone to read.

A little backstory…

I started learning Japanese during my second year of high school.  I signed up for the class on a whim, with the only reason for it being that I didn’t want to take Spanish.  I had no prior interest in Japan or the the Japanese language.  I didn’t expect that 5 or 6 years down the line I’d be getting ready to board a plane to Japan and not come back for 9+ months.  But here I am, still learning Japanese and still enjoying it!
